Celebrating 45 Years: Interim HealthCare Marks Milestone Anniversary

Greenville, S.C. – April 3, 2024 – Interim HealthCare of the Upstate, a leading provider of home care services, proudly announces its 45th anniversary on April 23, 2024. Since its founding in 1979 by Ray Schroeder, Interim HealthCare has been a pioneer in compassionate home care and innovation that sets industry standards. Originally a staffing and personal care agency, it has evolved to currently serve over 3,000 clients and patients daily across the Upstate, Midlands, and Lowcountry of South Carolina, offering skilled home health, hospice, and personal care services.

Jacque Gray, a home health nurse at Interim HealthCare for the last 39 years, takes pride in the company's long-time commitment to going the extra mile for patients in need. Gray reflects, "Years ago, when no other agencies in the area were assisting with patient-controlled analgesia pumps, a patient requested us to help with one of these pumps." After completing training with a well-known intravenous therapy company, Gray says Interim did not hesitate to step up to the challenge. "The patient was expected to only live for a week but went on to live for two years with a great quality of life. That's what we've always been about at Interim – bringing hope and the best care we possibly can."

In 2017, the company entered a new chapter under the ownership of five local families, collectively known as Inspirium Health, leveraging their extensive healthcare experience to further enhance our services. Interim prides itself on providing care tailored to each patient's unique needs, offering comprehensive medical solutions, and teaching patients how to manage their health to achieve the highest quality of life.

Under its mission of “honoring God through the enrichment of human life,” Interim HealthCare fosters a faith-based culture of compassion and teamwork among its over 700 employees. Since its inception, the company's staff has been actively involved in community outreach initiatives. In 2023 alone, they contributed $21,000 to national and local charities and $26,000 to their Employee Assistance Fund, which directly aids employees facing sudden financial crises.

Interim’s commitment to superior home health care and excellence in business has garnered it a reputation for consistent quality outcomes while earning it numerous accolades, including the Hospice Quality Excellence Award, SC Best in Business Award, and recognition as a Top Workplace seven times by the Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston Business Magazine. Under CEO Beth Landry’s leadership, the company remains dedicated to upholding its legacy and driving continued growth. Landry states, "At Interim, our company culture and core values are the driving force behind our success. Since our founding, we have upheld a commitment to compassion and integrity, which has established us as leaders in prioritizing our patients' needs and delivering exceptional care. While we take pride in our past achievements, we are equally excited about the future. Our team is fully dedicated to expanding upon our strong foundation and pioneering cutting-edge approaches to enhance and elevate our care services."

As Interim HealthCare of the Upstate celebrates 45 years of service, it reaffirms its dedication to improving the lives of its patients and their families. The company remains committed to driving innovation, enhancing patient outcomes, and making a positive difference in the communities it serves.
